JOHN DOTE' - "MAY I HAVE THIS DANCE?" THEME SONG FROM PARAMOUNT THEATERWRITTEN & PRODUCED BY JOHN DOTE' ON PENTHOUSE RECORDS
John Dote', born June 7, 1955 in the Bronx, New York is a dynamic American recording producer, engineer, songwriter, drummer, keyboardist and record promoter who helped launch the multi platinum hit single "What Have You Done For Me Lately" by Janet Jackson as well as "Bad" by the king of pop Michael Jackson for both A&M and Epic Records. But his career really advanced in 1976, when record executive and promoter for Warner Bros. Records, Pete Marino signed him to Penthouse Records to write the theme "May I Have This Dance?" for the hit television series "This Is San Francisco" which featured such stars as Liberace, Tony Bennett, Pearl Bailey, The Solid Gold Dancers and Dote' himself. The theme was also featured on the CBS television series "Wide World Of Sports" as seen around the globe. Dote' took "Disco" music to a new level even with the limitations of the technology back then and invented his style of "european disco". He lived in the bay area for over 32 years.
